A Study on the Relationship between Intelligent Quotient and Achievement Level of class Lecture and Labolatory in Nursing Courses

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find the correlation between Intelligent Quotient and achievement level of education, which is divided into achievement of lab. and class facture
Standardised test, developed by B.M. Jung & H.K. Kim was tested on 69 students, enrolled is sophomore and junior, in nursing dep. of C. Univ. in the second semester, 1976, and achievement level of subjects, in sophomore, junior and senior year, were gathered every year continually.
Obtained results were analysed statistically by means of I.B.M. CYBER 73-18 multiple correlation analysis.
The important findings of this study were as follows.
1) I.Q. was significantly related to achievement level of class lecture both of basic nursing subjects and of clinical nursing subjects.
2) I.Q. was significantly related to achievement level of basic nursing lab..
3) I.Q. was not related to achievement level of clinical nursing lab..
4) Those who did well in class lecture did also well in both of basic nursing lab. and clinical nursing lab.
